The Kaduna State University chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended its strike following approvals by the Kaduna State Government and the university authorities on the implementation of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement.
The suspension took effect from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The union’s congress unanimously accepted the approvals after considering the position of the state government, the university’s Governing Council and management.
The dispute had involved issues including salaries, earned academic allowances, university autonomy and promotion arrears.
KASU-ASUU said the resolution followed negotiations involving the union, government and university authorities.
The union appealed to students to prepare for the resumption of academic activities.
The strike had commenced as a two-week warning action on August 28 over unresolved demands.
