Nigerian engineer David Obilor has been conferred as a Fellow of the National Institution of Professional Engineers and Scientists in the United States.

Obilor, who works with the Offshore Renewables Team at the American Bureau of Shipping, received the fellowship certificate during a conference in the United States.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University, where his thesis research on energy-efficient heat exchanger systems earned recognition from the university’s energy institute.

His professional work focuses on renewable-energy system design, integration and commercial deployment.

Obilor has also participated as a judge in international STEM competitions and previously worked with a climate and energy entrepreneurship incubator in Texas.

His latest recognition adds to the growing number of Nigerian professionals building careers and contributing to specialised fields outside the country.
