$2.1m Abuja Land Deal: Wike’s Son; Jordan Denies Claims, Produces American Passport In Court

Reloaded News Desk

Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday produced his American passport before an FCT High Court in Abuja as he continued his defence in a $2.1 million land dispute.

The passport became central to the proceedings after Jordan told the court during cross-examination that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants allege they handed him $2.1 million to facilitate the acquisition of land in Abuja.

Asked which passport he used for the trip, Jordan said he travelled with his American passport.

The claimants, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, subsequently applied for the document to be produced in court. Justice Sylvanus Oriji granted the application and ordered its production.

Jordan presented the passport at Wednesday’s proceedings. The court made a copy for its records and returned the original to him, while directing his lawyer to make it available whenever required during the trial.

The passport evidence forms part of a wider dispute over an alleged land transaction in Abuja.

The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of land in Katampe and Guzape and that $2.1 million was paid in connection with the proposed transaction.

Jordan has denied the allegations and told the court that he did not receive the money. He has also disputed documents tendered by the claimants, alleging that the signature attributed to him on one of the documents was forged.

The court also directed Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet, following an application by the claimants’ counsel.

The case, marked CV/008/2026, has been adjourned to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for further proceedings. The court has not made a final determination on the allegations.
