Nigeria made a commanding start to the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with both its men’s and women’s teams recording 4–0 victories.

The result gives the Nigerian teams an early boost at one of the world’s biggest international team chess competitions.

The 46th Chess Olympiad is being held from September 15 to 27, bringing together national teams from across the world.
